EC3 To Defend NWA World’s Title in Italy for First Time in History

For the first time ever, the National Wrestling Alliance World’s Heavyweight title will be defended on Italian soil!

EC3 take the NWA World’s Championship to Italy July 7 at Wrestling Megastars “La Notte dei Campioni” (“The Night of Champions”). The “Ten Pounds of Gold” is on the line in triple-threat action against Elijah, formerly WWE star Elias, and top Italian contender Red Scorpion.

The event, taking place in Bovolone of Italy’s Verona province, marks an historic first for the National Wrestling Alliance. Never since the promotion’s formation in 1948 has the NWA World’s title been defended in Italy.

“The National Wrestling Alliance is extremely proud to see our World’s title defended around the globe,” says NWA Chief Operating Officer Joe Galli.

“This historic first continues the NWA’s legacy of putting wrestling’s most prestigious prize on the line against the most accomplished stars of top promotions worldwide,” Galli continues, “EC3 exemplifies what it is to be a true, traveling World Champion — and we could not be happier.”

This record-making Italian battle caps the reigning champ’s whirlwind weekend of European defenses. EC3 competes for Wrestling Megastars just 24 hours after facing top French contender Tristan Archer. The two-time former wXw Unified World Wrestling champion gets his shot at “Sweet Charlotte” July 6 at Banger Zone Wrestling’s Not Afraid in Faches Thumesnil, France.

Since winning the World’s title in August 2023 at NWA 75, EC3 has defended the championship coast-to-coast in the United States. Upcoming defenses in France and Italy not withstanding, he’s already taken the belt to the United Kingdom and Japan, where he defeated All Japan Pro Wrestling’s Reek Honda at Tokyo’s famed Korukuen Hall in May.

Should he leave Europe with his championship intact, EC3 is slated to main event NWA 76, coming to Philadelphia on August 31. NWA’s biggest Signature Live Event of the year, the anniversary spectacular sees the promotion return to the legendary 2300 Arena for the first time in three decades.
