Pro Wrestling Illustrated Launches NWA-Focused Video Interview Series
Prior to the sold-out NWA 76 anniversary spectacular, Pro Wrestling Illustrated sat down with stars of the National Wrestling Alliance.
This week Pro Wrestling Illustrated released the first two installments in an ongoing video interview series focused on the National Wrestling Alliance. Filmed August 31, NWA stars May Valentine and La Rosa Negra spoke with Candace Cordelia, columnist and contributor for the world’s foremost pro wrestling magazine.
Valentine and La Rosa individually joined Cordelia before NWA 76, in the electric atmosphere of Philadelphia’s 2300 Arena. Cordelia asked the stars about the National Wrestling Alliance, its packed women’s division and much more in these brief-but-informative encounters.
MAY VALENTINE
“My favorite part of working [for the National Wrestling Alliance] is that I get to interact with all the different personalities, all the different storylines,” Valentine (Mayra Diaz Gomez) tells Cordelia.
A backstage interviewer for most of her nearly five-year tenure with NWA, Valentine also shares details of her modeling career and life as a growing Hollywood starlet with Cordelia. Watch the interview below.
LA ROSA NEGRA
“The NWA has the best wrestlers around,” says La Rosa Negra in her interview with Cordelia.
A champion around the world, La Rosa Negra entered NWA 76 as a competitor in the Burke Invitational Gauntlet. The winner of the fourth-annual multi-competitor, elimination-style match becomes the No. 1 contender to the NWA Women’s World title.
“My strategy is to stay to the end, don’t be eliminated, and try to get the gold!” La Rosa tells PWI. Watch below.
